We’ve been listening to feedback from players playing in and testing for tournaments, and as such, we are making a slight change to how Recycle works.
5.5.1 Recycle means: “You may put two cards from your discard pile on the bottom of your deck in any order. If you do, draw a card.”
This is now no longer considered Banishing, and thus you no longer have to randomize the cards. As any player knows (or soon discovers), shuffling two cards is a weird process that is almost never adequate. There are workarounds (involving dice or opponents choosing), but these felt clunky and slowed the tempo of the game.
If you somehow banish two cards outside of a Recycle effect, you still have to randomize them.
This will show up in the next update of the complete rules document.
